With a forecast of rain for Friday, Archbishop Ryan students are worried about their junior prom plans.

This Friday there is a high chance of rain and students worry that the rain will interfere with their plans. The event takes place inside at Falls Manor Caterers but those attending the event will still be exposed to the weather while outside.

“I think that the rain is bad for the girls’ dresses, makeup, and hair,” said junior Justine Jones. “It is going to be hard to avoid the rain.”

Many are hoping that it does not rain or does not start until after the dance starts at 8 p.m. However, the National Weather Service predicted a 100 percent chance of rain Friday night. Not only is one to two inches of rain forecast, but also wind gusts of up to 25 mph. The low temperature Friday night will be about 42 degrees.

“I think that the rain could be an obstruction. I hope that the rain doesn’t ruin a good time,”  said junior Brendan Scanlon.

Some students are prepared for the storm.

“I will be very upset if it rains, but if it does I am going to have two umbrellas,” said junior Carissa Fuller.

Other students know that the weather will be bad but are optimistic it won’t get in the way of a good time.

“I don’t think that it will ruin the night,” said junior Brody Alloway.
