“Big Brother” fans always expect a lot out of the reality show each season, but this year fans are expecting more twists and the possibility of watching “Big Brother” veterans and other reality stars compete. However, as the “Big Brother” saying goes, “Expect the unexpected.”

“There have been reports of a second chances theme season that would include 16 returning players. According to Twitter, one of the most recent rumors is that Survivor legend Cirie Fields joined the cast. The rumor is so popular on social media that it has its own hashtag, #CirieBB19,” Chrissie Williams said in a May 30 article in ‘The Inquisitor.”

Adding to the hype for this season, which begins June 28,  have been tweets from “Big Brother” and Julie Chen, the show’s host:  https://twitter.com/CBSBigBrother.

“Big Brother” is a CBS reality series and a game show notorious for its twists, backstabbing, and romance. Contestants battle against each other with the hope of claiming the $500,000 prize awarded at the end of the summer. The house guests get no contact with the outside world and have to use tough strategy and manipulative moves to hold onto their place in the competition, even as “Big Brother is always watching.”

The game is simple: Every week, a Head of Household (HOH) competition is held. Whoever wins HOH has the power to put up two house guests for eviction. The nominees have the chance to save themselves by winning the power of veto  competition (POV), giving them the opportunity to take themselves off of the block and forcing the HOH to nominate someone else. House guests who are not up for eviction also  are eligible to participate in POV’s and have the power to use the veto power if they win. Who their allies are  in the game is who will keep them safe…or will they?

The season begins with a two-hour premiere 8 PM Wednesday, June 28. That will be followed by hour-long episodes on 9 PM Thursday, June 29, and 8 PM Sunday, July 2. The regular schedule starts 8 PM Wednesday, July 5. During the regular season, “Big Brother” airs every Wednesday at 8 PM, Thursday at 9 PM, and Sunday at 8 PM.
