The Archbishop Ryan Ragdolls’ volleyball team falls to the St.Hubert’s Bambies in a well anticipated rivalry match up on Thursday night.

All three sets were very close, with only 2-3 points separating them. The first set ended 25-22 Hubert’s.   Hubert’s had a few kills throughout the match, but most points for Hubert’s were scored off of Ryan’s errors.

“We have been practicing hard all week to prepare, and played a game against Archbishop Wood, which is a good team to play against to get ready for Hubert’s,” said senior captain Julia O’Shea. “Losing this game is really hard for us. It was such a winnable game, and I hope we get to play them again later in the season to show them how we can really play.”

The second set ended 26-24 Hubert’s. Ryan had a 6-0 lead to start the set with great serving by Gabi Deluisi. Hubert’s took control of the set with great serves by Emily Holmes. Due to lots of missed serves and other errors on both sides the game, the second set was very close.

Ryan started strong in the third set and was up by the biggest lead of the night, 8 points but let St. Hubert’s back in it.  The final set had several tied scores with Hubert’s ending with the final score 25-22.

The Ragdoll’s are currently 2-2 in Catholic League play as they head into Tuesday night’s game against O’Hara then home against Hallahan on Thursday.
