This Thursday, October 19, will be the school’s first open house. Open house is a great way for potential first years or transfers to see the school. It gives an accurate view of how our school operates and the possibilities that come with going to Archbishop Ryan.

This school event will be led by the finest representatives of the high school. All three leadership groups : Student Council, Ambassadors, and National Honors Society-will be present for the night. These groups will be leading tours, signing visitors in and ensuring that our school is shown in its best light. Also present will be sport team captains and club leaders.

Recently Archbishop Ryan has seen a decline in attendance and open house could be a pivotal night for the future of this school. This year’s freshman class featured lower than 300 students, an all time low in the school’s 50 year history. Open House can play a heavy role in a child’s decision of their secondary schooling. It also must influence the parents to believe their child is receiving the proper education.

“ I was either going to attend Conwell Egan or Archbishop Ryan and I was thoroughly impressed with the Ryan open house that I attended here and have not regretted my decision at all,” said senior Jackie Schaeffer.

The administration is placing much emphasis on this school being clean and ready for show and tell to the public on Thursday.
