Stranger Things made it’s return with season 2 after much anticipation and does well at keeping the momentum of the first.

Season 2 of Stranger Things takes place a year after the events of the first and shows how the characters have been impacted by those events. Throughout the entire show references to the first season help explain and drive the new plot.

Though most of the plot is strong there is some unnecessary filler that could be completely cut and the show would be better.

The  takes place in the 1980s in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. The show reminds viewers of the retro setting with many mentions of 80s pop culture from arcades to movie references like ghostbusters. Although there is many references there is not to many that is becomes annoying. The show is reminiscent of an old science fiction movies and takes inspiration from those same movies.

One of the best parts about the first season was the chemistry between the many cast members and this is improved upon in the second season. Also several new members join the cast including Sadie Sink as Max, Dacre Montgomery as Billy, Sean Astin as Bob, Paul Reiser as Dr.Owens, and Linnea Berthelsen as Kali. The relationship between the characters are built on this season and thrive as the characters grow older.

With the only inappropriate thing about the show being the language this might not be the best thing to let a young child to watch.

The second season was released Friday October 27 on Netflix. Like the first season this season the episodes are broken down into chapters. Each of the 9 episode or chapters is around 50 minutes to an hour long.
