As the leaves continue to change, Archbishop Ryan’s fall athletics approach the end of yet another exciting season. After a highly technical and physically demanding season competing in the Philadelphia Catholic League, the Ragdolls field hockey team prepares to say goodbye not only to the everyday practices, but also to the seniors.

The team faced their last matchup against Bonner-Prendie on Wednesday, October 20th at 3:45pm on their home field.

While many of the girls will be returning to the field next year, ten girls will be cleaning out their lockers for the last time.

Seniors Reginna Ruskowski, Jacqueline Ostaszewski, Stevie Lynn Heim, Kerri Kuzowsky, Alyssa Marino, Julia Wilson, Amanda Shaw, carissa Fuller, Kristen Johnson, and Kasey Cunningham are coming close to the end of their high school field hockey career.

This group of girls has stuck together all four years which Coach Faber says is rare. Coach Faber named Ruskowski, Heim, and Ostaszewki team captains for the 2017 season.

Each girl played her heart out on the field. They finished the season with a better record than the previous year, but unfortunately will not be advancing to the playoffs.

“Playing field hockey has been the best decision I have ever made. It has been the best four years of my life, the team is basically my second family,” Said Ruskowski.
