For the first time in NFL history the Philadelphia Eagles have won the Super Bowl and will bring the Lombardi Trophy to Philadelphia.

The Eagles led by Quarterback Nick Foles defeated the New England Patriots 41-33. The game was played at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Sunday February 4. Foles threw for 373 yards, had 3 touchdowns, 2 passing and one receiving, had an interception, and completed 28 of his 43 passes. Trey Burton threw a single touchdown pass to Foles in arguably the most exciting play of the night on a fourth down trick play. LeGarrette Blount carried 14 times for 90 yards and a touchdown. Also Corey Clement, Alshon Jeffery, and Zach Ertz all had receiving touchdowns. The Eagles led for most of the game but late in the fourth quarter Tom Brady fumbled the ball during a drive with a chance to tie the game and the Eagles recovered the ball.

“#FlyEaglesFly,” tweeted Foles after the game.

On the Patriots side Brady threw for an incredible 505 yards, and 3 touchdowns without interceptions. James White had a single rushing touchdown. Chris Hogan had a receiving touchdown, and Rob Gronkowski had 2 receiving touchdowns. Also on the defensive side Duron Harmon had a interception

Several records were broken during the game. Both teams combined for 1,151 yards to break the NFL record. Brady broke his own record for most yards in a game with 505.The Patriots also had the most yards in a loss in  NFL history and the most points in a loss in Super Bowl History. The real star was Super Bowl MVP Foles who became the first quarterback since Brady to start the season as a backup and go on to win a Superbowl. Foles also has the fifth spot for most yards in a Superbowl, and was the first player to have a passing and receiving touchdown in the Super Bowl.
